Summary:

Soliton microcombs have been studied extensively over the past decade. With applications ranging from sensing to telecommunication, soliton comb generation is one of the most sought after research topics over the past couple of years. One of the most promising ways of comb generation, is using microresonators. However, intrinsic and technical limitations have made the comb generation at short wavelengths extremely challenging. In this research, we are exploring ways to overcome these limitations and achieve visible to IR comb generation. In order to do so, we introduced novel geometries and fabrication processes, which can help us generate soliton microcomb at short wavelengths using silica microdisks.
