Events for employers and recruiters

We can help you find your next great hire from UVic! Attend a career fair, host an information session, participate as a mock interviewer and more.
Connect through our career fairs
We host two major career fairs each year, currently in a virtual space. We hope to see you there!
West Coast Virtual Fairs: Career, Volunteer & Graduate Schools
On March 9 and 10, 2022, connect virtually with more thousands of UVic and SFU students at the Jobs and Volunteer Expo (a West Coast Virtual Fair). You can set up a virtual booth and:
- hold info sessions
- chat with students as they come by your booth
- set up 1-on-1 video calls
- hold group sessions
- even hold interviews on the spot
This fair is a partnership between Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the University of Victoria (UVic), who have joined forces to support students at both institutions.
Registration is now open! Sign up for the fair here.
Hi-Tech Co-op and Career Fair
Meet 1,000+ engineering and computer science students.
Cancelled for February 2022. Hoping to return in February 2023.
Our fairs (currently virtual) are full-day events. As an exhibitor, you'll meet interested students, answer questions and share promotional material. If you're interested in increased visibility for your organization, sponsorship options are also available.
Host a session or attend networking events
Host an employer or grad school info session
When: Throughout the year, upon request
Note: Due to COVID-19, our info sessions will be virtual for the 2021-2022 academic year.
We offer information session for employers and graduate/professional schools upon request. At your session, you can discuss your organization, meet with students, answer questions, share opportunities and raise your brand profile at UVic. We normally host several sessions per month.
Promoting your session
We can help with promoting your session on our online events calendar, website and social media channels. Other promotions are up to you, but we suggest promoting on social media and/or connecting in advance with UVic student clubs or course unions that may be interested in your session.
How to book a session
If you are interested in booking an information session for students in all subject areas, please email employerinfosessions@uvic.ca.
To book an information session for Business students, please email bccc@gmail.com.
To book an information session for Engineering and Computer Science students, please email martinjm@uvic.ca.
Please note that while we love to give our students as many opportunities to connect with potential employers and grad schools as possible, submitting a request for a session does not guarantee that we will be able to book your event. Once we receive your request, we will assess whether your session is a good fit given our current capacity and get back to you as soon as possible!Take part in a career panel
When: October and March each year
We host "What can you do with your degree?" industry panels in the fall and spring to help UVic students and alumni learn about career opportunities in a variety of sectors. This series is one of our most popular events!
Sharing your own career story as a panelist helps to support students as they explore career options—and it's a great way to share information about prospects at your organization.
Please contact UVicCoopCareerEvents@uvic.ca to volunteer as a panelist. These panels will take place virtually during the 2021-2022 academic year.
Participate as an interviewer in a mock interview clinic
When: We run several throughout the year; time varies by program
Our students participate in mock interviews on campus to gain realistic interview experience and help them to better articulate their competencies to employers.
We’re often looking for employers from a wide range of sectors to volunteer for these sessions; it’s a fantastic way to connect with UVic and share valuable feedback with our students. Some mock-interviewers have been so impressed with a student, they've made a job offer on the spot!
If you’re interested in volunteering as a mock interviewer, please contact megt@uvic.ca.
Are you interested in reaching education/teaching students? The Education Student Assocation (EdSa) runs an annual teacher education career fair in November. Learn more or contact uvicedsa@gmail.com.
