Legacy giving

Those of us serving the Trans+ population today stand on the shoulders of the giants who went before us.

You, too, can be one of those giants by leaving a legacy for the benefit of the next generation through your children, those whom you have taught, the work that you have done, or the influence that you have had on those around you.

You can also leave a legacy by remembering the Transgender Archives in your will. Our advisors can help you with the details.

Your legacy can take the form of either an endowment or support for a specific period of time.

You can leave a legacy by either an endowment or support for:

  • A permanent dedicated Archivist position for the Transgender Archives
  • More students and part-time staff to process materials and make them available more quickly
  • Searching out and acquiring historical materials from more marginalized communities
  • Digitizing and posting more materials online so that they can be easily available anywhere, any time
  • Increasing the quality and quantity of storage for our collections
  • Scholarships for undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students to conduct research in the Transgender Archives
  • Fellowships for visiting professors and  community-based scholars to conduct research in the Transgender Archives
  • Providing better working facilities for visiting researchers
  • Public lectures, short courses, podcasts, webinars and other forms of educational outreach featuring content from the Transgender Archives
  • Films and arts events featuring content from the Transgender Archives
