Modify calendar view: Outlook 2010 and 2013

The default calendar views available in Outlook 2010 and 2013 can be modified to fit your individual needs. In this tutorial, we will walk through an example of removing vacation events an existing view.

  1. From the View tab, click Change View. Select Manage Views from the Change View dropdown. This will take you to the Mange All Views dialog box.



  2. Click Calendar in the list of views. Click the Modify button.



  3. Click on the Filter button to open the Filter dialog box.



  4. Click on the Advanced tab and then click on the Field button to select the Frequently-used fields category from the drop-down list provided.



  5. Select Message from the options listed in Frequently-used fields. A field will be added in the Filter dialog window under Define more criteria.



  6. Select doesn't contain in the Condition drop-down menu and type Vacation in the Value field. This will filter your view so all vacation events are hidden. (If you wanted to hide other events, type the relevant term here instead.) Click Add to List.



  7. Later, if you wish to remove this filter, click on the item under the heading Find items that matches this criteria and click the Remove button.



  8. Click OK to return to Advanced View Settings window. Then click OK again to return to Manage All Views. Click Apply. Then OK to return to your calendar.
