Redirect meeting-related messages: Outlook 2010 and 2013

When you have more than one email account, but wish to use only a single calendar for your scheduling needs, you will need to redirect meeting invitations sent to one account to your scheduling account.

To create a rule to forward all meeting requests and updates to a single account:

1. Open the Internet Explorer web browser and navigate to https://mail.uvic.ca.

2. Login to the account which you wish to never receive meeting invitation and updates.

3. Click on the "Options" button, located on the top-right portion of the page.

4. Click on "Create an Inbox Rule"

5. Click on "New Rule" and select "Create a new rule for arriving messages" from the drop-down menu.

6. Click "More Options"

7. Under "When the message arrives, and:", click "It's -> of the Type"

8. Choose "Meeting Request" under "Message Type" and click "OK".

9. Under "Do the following:", choose "Forward, redirect, or send"

10. Click "Redirect the Message to" and then select the account that you wish to redirect the message to from the "Global Address Book".

11. Click "Add action" button.

12. Click on "Move, copy, or delete" and select "Delete the message from the drop-down menu."

13. Click "Save"

As an additional step, if you would like to prevent meeting requests from appearing in your unused calendar, Choose "Settings" and then "Calendar" and uncheck the box labelled Automatically place new meeting requests on my calendar, marked Tentative.
