Human Dimensions of Climate Change (HDCC)

*Important: the HDCC program is suspended (Senate, Feb.3/23).

HDCC will not be accepting new students, but current students enrolled in the Minor or Certificate will be supported to complete their programs. For any questions, contact Assoc.Dean Academic soscasdn@uvic.ca

We focus on climate change from the perspectives of all the major disciplines that emphasize the human elements of climate change. This includes psychology, economics, geography, anthropology, law, philosophy, political science, sociology, business, environmental studies and others.

Solutions to the many problems of climate change mitigation and adaptation will require an understanding of the human aspects of the problem. HDCC directly confronts these human aspects.
