Nourish+Flourish event accessibility
We are committed to making our events as accessible and barrier-free as possible. If you have any accessibility needs in order to participate in our events, please provide details when you register and/or contact us at nourishflourish@uvic.ca.
Please note the following accessibility considerations for Nourish + Flourish events.- Please avoid the use of scented products during events.
- All buildings are wheelchair/mobility aid accessible.
- If you are unable to find childcare, please provide advance notice if a child will be attending via the registration form or by email.
For dinner programs:
- Water is provided. A buffet-style meal based on your preferences indicated on your registration is served at approximately 5:30 p.m.
- There are gender neutral single stall washrooms located in the lobby of the Halpern Centre for Students.
- Facilitators speak with microphones.
- We offer a low sensory room with a variety of different items (colouring, fidgets, sunglasses, ear plugs, hard candy, etc.) with dim lighting and limited noise.
- We provide a visual aid for all activities.
- We collect dietary requirements when you register for the event. If you register 48 hours before the event, we may not be able to meet your dietary requirements.
For Coffee Catch-ups:
- There are gendered single stall washrooms in the lobby of Jamie Cassels Centre as well as a gender-neutral washroom on the second floor.
- We provide a variety of snacks to meet specific dietary requirements (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan/vegetarian, peanut-free, tree nut-free) throughout the event.
- We offer a variety of sensory items.
