If you are interested in hosting your own N + F-style event, there is an opportunity to be awarded a microgrant (of up to $300 per applicant). You are eligible to apply if you have attended two (2) or more Nourish + Flourish events and submit an application of interest.

Students selected will also be required to attend a 60-minute coaching session on facilitation skills, accessibility, and inclusion as well as provided a kit of decorations and assistance booking space on-campus if needed.

The application form will require the following information:

  • Student information
  • Theme and potential activities
  • Event schedule
  • Work plan
  • Detailed budget

Applications are accepted throughout the term. Applications for the spring term are now closed and will reopen in September 2024.

Accountability and recognition

Successful applicants are required to provide a report back on their event in the form of:

  1. A short summary report of the event,
  2. A video, OR
  3. A five to ten (5-10) minute presentation about the event.

This report will include questions about how the event went as well as a self-reflection on the leadership skills used and salient points of the event’s discussion.

Applicants may also be asked to share photos or videos of their initiative and are invited to participate in social media campaigns or UVic news stories. Participation in these activities is not required.

The Office of Student Life will maintain a list of approved microgrants on the Student Life website in order to provide transparency and accountability.
