Talking circles

Talking circles at INAF resulted from Indigenous students expressing a need to get together and share experiences with one another. They have proven to be a vital building block in the foundation of support for Indigenous students at UVic.

An Elder or an Indigenous Counsellor leads each talking circle in the First Peoples House. Talking circles offer students the chance to take part in open, honest dialogues about their experiences in the post-secondary environment and receive feedback from an Elder, and Indigenous Counsellor and their peers.

In the Fall 2016 semester, Talking Circles take place on Thursdays from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Elders Lounge.
