Actuarial Science

Simon Fraser University (SFU)


  • Required: Undergraduate degree
  • Study for: At least two years at SFU
  • Degree awarded: Master of Science (MSc) in Actuarial Science

Admission requirements:

  • a Bachelor's degree from SFU or its equivalent from a recognized institution (preference given to applicants with a background in actuarial mathematics, but degrees in other areas are considered),
  • a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of a B (3.00/4.33 on the SFU scale),  or a minimum grade point average (GPA) of a B+ (3.33/4.33 on the SFU scale) based on the last 30.0 units of undergraduate course work completed, and
  • letters from referees attesting to the ability of the applicant to undertake advanced work.
