Crime prevention: We all play a part

With up to 25,000 students, staff, faculty, and visitors on campus each day, UVic is like a small city—and just like any city, incidents can happen. These may include:

  • Theft from or of vehicles
  • Theft of computer equipment
  • Vandalism to university or personal property
  • Criminal harassment or sexualized violence

Unfortunately, many incidents go unreported each year, which makes it harder to prevent them. Reporting matters—it helps keep our campus safe for everyone.

Why report crime?

Your safety is our highest priority. When you report concerns, you help us take action to prevent and reduce crime on campus. Even small things can make a big difference.

Each of us has a role

Students, employees, and visitors are encouraged to take an active role in creating a safe environment.

If you see something that doesn’t feel right—report it.

Call Campus Security at 250-721-7599 anytime, day or night. When in doubt, reach out—we’re here for you.
