Dr. Lisa Reynolds

Dr. Lisa Reynolds is an Associate Professor in the School of Molecular Life Sciences. Academic credentials include a BSc from the University of Manchester and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh.

Research Interests

 Dr. Reynolds studies how microorganisms and parasitic worms living in the intestinal tract shape the development and function of the immune system. The laboratory examines communication among the microbiota, helminths, and immune cells at mucosal surfaces such as the intestine. A particular focus is how these interactions influence immune development during early life and under different environmental conditions, including changes in diet or exposure to infection. The group also investigates how intestinal organisms alter their local environment and how these changes affect health throughout the body. The long-term goal is to identify molecules and cellular mechanisms that could be targeted to prevent or treat allergic, inflammatory, and infectious diseases.
