Priorities and strategies

Study 1: Assessing health equity priorities and strategies across health authorities over time

The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of equity initiatives across the six BC health authorities. The study will compare a baseline analysis from the beginning of the study with a follow-up analysis completed at the end for each health authority. The main research methods for this study are document review and situational analysis.

Research questions:

  • What is being done to promote health equity in general in each health authority and with particular respect to mental health and substance use?
  • How have health equity issues have been prioritized?
  • What are the other influences on priorities and health equity strategies?
  • How does this change over the course of the study?

The result will be six unique case reports and an overall provincial level analysis that summarizes across cases and times.
