"For North American Commerce, the Border Remains an Impediment"

BIG Policy Briefs, Vol. 1 No. 5, June 2019

Despite recent negotiations, the border between Canada and the United States remains a costly barrier for North American trade. The presence of border checks and security clearance, as well as delays as good waits to cross all impact the bottom line of businesses of all size, on both sides of the border.

BIG monthly briefings are short, and written in an accessible way in order to enable non-experts and border scholars alike to gain insight into the work that the Borders in Globalization project has done over the past few years. Each of the monthly briefings will be posted on their website as they are released to partners, stakeholders, and other interested groups.
