International bursaries

Bursaries are awarded to international undergraduate and graduate students who experience financial crisis during their school year. All applicants must make an appointment with a Financial Aid Officer to discuss their extenuating circumstances and eligibility.

Bursaries marked with an asterisk (*) are administered by the University of Victoria Foundation.

Nelson Family Bursary*

One or more bursaries are awarded to undergraduate international students from sub-Saharan Africa. Preference will be given to students in the Faculty of Human and Social Development.

Victoria Canada-China Friendship Association Bursary*

Value: Varies | Number: Varies

A number of awards, which may vary annually, are available to students from the People’s Republic of China. The students may be already attending graduate school at the University of Victoria or have been offered admission. The bursaries are for students attending on special authorization. These awards are intended to defray costs of special language courses required by students. They may also be used for other necessary courses or materials recommended for the students’ programs by their supervisory committee.

A bursary is awarded to a female international graduate student at the University of Victoria. Preference will be given to students from Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
