The New Student Welcome opens our full day of Orientation programming for all new undergraduate students! Begin your UVic journey with an official welcome from a treasured Elder along with UVic leadership. Hear the experiences and tips of current UVic students, meet our mascot Thunder, cheer on student performances, and make your first connections on campus with peers from all faculties. We can't wait to kick off your UVic journey together!

This event is for all new undergraduate students. Doors will open at 8 a.m.

Some considerations for accessibility at the New Student Welcome event include:

The event takes place in the CARSA performance gym, a wheelchair-accessible space. A ramp to access the space is located by the main CARSA entrance. 

  • The welcome event is busy, and the surrounding environment may be loud and crowded. 
  • We will be using a large screen for student engagement activities. 
  • We will not be providing food and drinks at this event. There are water fountains for you to fill up your water bottle.
  • Two gender-neutral single stall washrooms are located at the main CARSA entrance.
  • ASL interpretation will be available at this event.
