Campus holiday closure

- University of Victoria

The UVic campus will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 25 to Jan. 3. The campus officially re-opens on Jan. 4, 2021. Some services will be offered virtually due to the ongoing pandemic.

Classes for the spring term begin on Monday, Jan. 11.

Student grades will not be posted between Dec. 25 and Jan. 3.

Holiday closure guidelines for PEA, CUPE 951, and CUPE 917 staff are posted to the Human Resources website.

The COVID-19 website has the latest information about the status of campus services and health and safety protocols. Be sure to check the site before your planned return to campus in the new year.

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Health and wellness

We encourage you to take time to relax and rejuvenate over the holidays.

SupportConnect is a free and confidential 24/7 mental health service for UVic students. Connect with counsellors, consultants and life coaches by phone or online—anytime, from anywhere.

All UVic staff, faculty and librarians can access support through our employee and family assistance program (EFAP).

Support for instructors

Learning, Teaching, Support and Innovation (LTSI) and the Computer Help Desk will be open with reduced hours throughout the winter break. Services are available to support instructors as they prepare for the spring term.

Sustainability

If you are working on campus: Before you leave for the winter break, please turn off computers, printers and other office equipment. View the Campus Planning and Sustainability Holiday Shutdown Checklist.

If you are working remotely: Consider if there is a way to reduce your energy consumption over the holidays by turning off computers, printers and other office equipment.
