Have you been keeping your Canadian immigration documents up to date? As a temporary resident in Canada, keeping track of your immigration documents is an essential part of your international student experience. The Global Community Goes Ice Skating

Take a break from studying and go ice skating with the Global Community tomorrow evening, Tuesday, January 24th from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm! Dress warmly, bring your friends, and meet us at the Oak Bay Rec Centre for some winter fun. Everyone is welcome! Please bring $5 for your ice rink entrance and skates rental fee. Free Career Workshops: Succeeding in Your Canadian Job Search Series

Students may be accustomed to different job search strategies and workplace cultures than those that are common in Canada. This series of workshops discusses these differences and explores how you can use your intercultural competencies to succeed in your Canadian job search and in Canadian workplaces. The next workshop is taking place on Wednesday, January 25 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm in the ICS Meeting Room, B202d, Jamie Cassels Centre (2nd floor). RSVP on the engage platform!



Apply Now: UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program Summer, 2023

The objective of the program is to provide undergraduate students from different countries, including Japan, who are considering a career in biology or related sciences and planning to continue to graduate studies, with eight weeks of biomedical research experience in the basic and translational sciences followed by the Amgen Scholars Asia Symposium on August 3 - 5, 2023. Additionally, there will be opportunities for the students to take part in Japanese language classes, Japanese cultural events, exchange events with UTokyo students, etc. Each Amgen Scholar will receive flight tickets, stipend to cover living expenses and paid accommodation to participate in the program and the Amgen Scholars Asia Symposium.

French + Sciences Program

This year, the French Embassy in Canada will offer up to 6 scholarships for students to participate in the French + Sciences program. This program is intended for undergraduate students registered in a Canadian University (outside the province of Quebec) who wish to learn or improve their level of French and discover a scientific and innovative environment while visiting France. You will find the application form and instructions on the France Canada Culture website: http://francecanadaculture.org/frenchsciences-program/. Interested students have until 15 February 2023 to apply.
