In the know: Advice for International Students

Successful Applications: If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, to study in Canada, most of you are required to apply for immigration documents (e.g., study permit, co-op work permit, temporary resident visa etc.) at one point unless exempt. In most cases, you can submit immigration applications by yourself without hiring an immigration representative. This article contains existing resources and tips that can help you make successful online applications.

Academic Enrolment Status for International Students

As a study permit holder in Canada, you are obligated to stay compliant with your study permit conditions at all times while studying in Canada. To monitor your compliance, IRCC requires UVic to submit regular compliance reports on the academic enrolment status of international students who hold a study permit. This article talks about UVic definitions for enrolment and implications on your immigration status.

Volunteer for Fall International Student Welcome

Do you want to help welcome new international students to Canada, and to the University of Victoria, through our International Centre for Students Fall Orientation Programming? Are you available on Thursday, September 1st or between August 30th and September 9th at various times? We think this experience will be perfect for you! Mini Golfing with the Global Community

The Global Community is ready for summer ! We hope you’ll join us to meet new friends, have some laughs and practice your golf putt on Monday, July 4th from 2:00pm to 5:30pm. We’ll travel together by bus to Blenkinsop Adventure Mini Golf where we’ll have loads of fun navigating our way through the castle, cottage and winding greens. UVic Graduates and Convocation Ceremonies

The month of June marks convocation season! This year, not only the convocation ceremonies of Spring 2022 graduates will take place, but also the in-person convocation ceremonies of Spring 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021 UVic alumni! We would like to congratulate all UVic graduates, and are thrilled that the in-person events will give all students the chance to walk across the stage and celebrate their accomplishments with family, friends and classmates!

UVic Course Registration

UVic’s course registration period for the Fall 2022 term and Spring 2023 term opens on June 13th. Students are reminded to check their emails and/or their online tools (via their UVic MyPage) for their assigned registration date/time. For those with questions about the course registration process, please visit UVic’s comprehensive Course registration website, as it contains instructions and tutorials to guide you through the process.
