Wherever you're coming from, and whatever your previous connection to Canada, the International Centre for Students (ICS) is dedicated to helping you optimize your UVic experience. Consider us your local consultants for all things new and different.
The International Student Advising (ISA) team provides non-academic support, such as pre-arrival considerations, settlement resources and immigration (e.g., study permit, work authorization) assistance for undergraduate and graduate international students who are seeking a UVic credential, as well as undergraduate and graduate international students who are visiting UVic from other institutions.
In this section, you will find information on the following topics:
International Advising
International Student Advising team provides non-academic support, such as settlement resources and referrals, and immigration advice related to being a student (e.g. study permit, work authorization) throughout your program of studies at UVic.
Immigration Documents
As an international student, you may need certain Canadian immigration documents to study at UVic. International Student Advisers in the ICS are immigration practicitioners who can legally advise on Canadian immigration documents you and your accompanying family members may need.
Health Insurance
All UVic students are required to have comprehensive coverage for the entire duration of their studies in Canada. Without coverage, you could be denied treatment or pay thousands of dollars each day for medical services.
Housing and Finances
Before you arrive in Victoria, you need to think about where you are going to live and how you are going to pay for your tuition fees, student fees, and living expenses.
