Biography

I received a B.A. in Chinese Literature from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, followed by an M.A. in Theoretical Linguistics at Indiana University, Bloomington. I took a Ph.D. in classical Chinese literature from the University of British Columbia, and spent a year as JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences) scholar at Kyoto University in Japan.

My primary research interests are concerned with the narrative tradition in classical Chinese verse, poetry of late Imperial China, medieval Chinese poetry, poetic transition from 18th to early 20th centuries, and the tradition of knight-errantry in Chinese poetry.
