Slavic studies abroad

If you are considering a Slavic travel/study program, please consult with , the Department’s Travel/Study Abroad Coordinator. We can offer programs for every level of Russian. In the Fall of every year we have an information session about studying abroad.

We think you may find useful two checklists prepared by our former student Rowan Meredith about practical and emotional preparation for study and work abroad.

The department of Germanic and Slavic Studies is offers a study abroad program at RUDN University, Moscow. Options available at all levels. However, the mobility program with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia has been suspended until further notice. Please check funding opportunities for study abroad. In addition, Russian Majors and Minors are eligible to apply for the $1500 Nicholas V. UVic also provides scholarships through the Global Engagement funding options, such as the $500 International Opportunities Fund and the $1000 One World Scholarship.  Students may earn 7.5 UVic credits while taking courses on Russian language and culture.
