Mode of delivery for Fall and Spring term courses has yet to be determined.

Interested individuals should apply to the Chair, Dr. Laura Parisi, Department of Gender Studies, University of Victoria, by e-mail to gndrapp@uvic.ca to arrive by no later than 4 PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2020. Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of three referees.

The cover letter should indicate which courses the applicant would be prepared to teach and what qualifications the applicant has for teaching these particular courses. The Department is seeking qualified instructors across the range of fields in the department. Please see the UVic academic calendar for current course titles and information: https://www.uvic.ca/calendar/undergrad/index.php#/courses. We also welcome proposals for special topics or new courses at the 200 and 300 levels.

Specific course offerings will depend on the availability of qualified instructors and are subject to final budgetary approval. Unexpected vacancies may occur at any time. Qualified individuals living (or expecting to live) in the Greater Victoria area are especially encouraged to apply, and to maintain a current statement of interests and qualifications on file with the Chair.

In all appointments, preference will be given to those with a completed or nearly complete PhD and a combination of expertise and experience appropriate to the courses concerned, though those with MA’s in Gender and Women’s studies or other related fields will also be considered. The University of Victoria is an equity employer and encourages applications from women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and Indigenous peoples, people of all sexual orientations and genders, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of the University. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, in accordance with Canadian Immigration requirements, Canadian and permanent residents will be given priority.

The University of Victoria reserves the right to fill additional teaching assignments from the pool of applicants for this posting. Applications must reach the Chair at  no later than 4 PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2020.
