The School welcomes and is actively recruiting applicants from communities that experience historical and present-day systemic discrimination and marginalization, and who are committed to social justice, equity, anti-racism and decolonization. In our admissions decisions, we will apply a decolonial equity framework which includes an intersectional lens and will prioritize applicants who are Indigenous, Black and people of colour.

Application Information

Welcome to the School of Social Work. We offer three Master of Social Work programs, accredited by the Canadian Association of Social Work Education (CASWE).

Please be advised that MSWF students will be taking their first year courses fully on campus. As well, all admitted MSWA students will need to attend an on-campus institute, which will be held for a week in late August/early September 2023 (exact dates to be determined). All admitted students will need to refer to their email for the most up to date information. Please also refer to the Timetable for official dates.

Our next intake will be September 2024, with an application window opening in early October, 2023. We will admit new cohorts to our MSW Advanced (MSWA) and MSW Indigenous Specialization (MSWI) programs. The MSWA and MSWI program streams require applicants to hold a BSW degree from a CASWE accredited social work program.

We offer three Master of Social Work programs with different application processes. Please follow the links below to access the appropriate admission requirements and the application process.

The School of Social Work does not offer any clinical social work program. For counselling programs and courses please contact the Faculty of Education and the School of Educational Psychology and Leadership studies.
