The School welcomes and is actively recruiting applicants from communities that experience historical and present-day systemic discrimination and marginalization, and who are committed to social justice, equity, anti-racism and decolonization. In our admissions decisions, we will apply a decolonial equity framework which includes an intersectional lens and will prioritize applicants who are Indigenous, Black and people of colour.

Application Information

Welcome to the School of Social Work. We offer three Master of Social Work programs, accredited by the Canadian Association of Social Work Education (CASWE).

Applications for September 2022 admission to the MSW Advanced (MSWA) and MSW Indigenous (MSWI) programs are now OPEN. For details, please review each individual program below.

The next entry point is September 2022. We will admit new cohorts to our MSW Advanced (MSWA) and MSW Indigenous Specialization (MSWI) programs. Both these programs require applicants to hold a BSW degree from a CASWE accredited social work program. The application deadline is December 1st, 2021.

All admitted MSWA students will need to attend an on-campus institute, which will be held for a week in late August/early September 2022 (exact dates to be determined). Our School is responding to the challenges presented by COVID-19 and will follow all Provincial Health Directives. As such, the details and attendance requirements of the on-campus institute may change. All admitted MSWA students will need to refer to their email for the most up to date information. Please also refer to the Timetable for official dates.

The next entry to the MSW Foundation (MSWF) program is September 2023, for which the applications will open in October 2022.

We offer three Master of Social Work programs with different application processes. Please follow the links below to access the appropriate admission requirements and the application process.
