Rebecca Bingley joined the school of nursing as an assistant teaching professor in the nurse practitioner program in January 2023, after teaching as a sessional instructor since January 2022. Rebecca's nursing background is in pediatrics, where she spent 8 years working in pediatric critical care and cardiac surgery in Ontario and British Columbia. After completion of her Masters in Nursing Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2018, she worked in her local community providing primary care and mental health and addictions services to vulnerable populations. Rebecca has been involved in multiple Global Health medical missions with the Cardiostart International team, helping establish cardiac surgery services in resource constrained areas of the world.

Rebecca's research thus far has focused on identifying health disparities and establishing pre-operative guidelines for refugee children with heart disease. Rebecca is interested in advancing research in nurse practitioner education and entry to practice training.
