Research Support Team

Our services

The research support team (RST) promotes excellence in Faculty of Health research through grant application and management support; builds research culture and capacity among health schools and programs; and ensures the faculty has a strong research vision and activities that integrate with the university’s strategic research plan.

Think of us as the one stop shop to navigate research processes at UVic.

We help researchers at all career levels including but not limited to:

• assisting with administrative processes
• providing research account management
• delivering capacity-building workshops and seminars
• leading research initiatives
• guiding researchers in grant application processes

Shared work / research space (HSD B205)

Designed to support students, grant-funded staff, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting scholars research, the RST has office space with 15 workstations each with a privacy screen. The workstations are available on a daily first-come, first-serve basis, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Research employment

Faculty of Health researchers hire many grant-funded individuals to work with them on their research projects. These positions become available on an ongoing basis and include roles such as research coordinator, project manager, research assistant and post-doctoral fellow.

Initiatives

Our office is responsible for a number of research initiatives, including an annual research conference, annual post-doctoral fellow showcase, monthly lunch and learn sessions, post-doctoral fellow networking sessions, research administration drop-ins, researcher orientations, and faculty internal awards and grants.
