The Farquhar provides the following services:

Your event will be added to University of Victoria’s online event calendar once the event has been confirmed and all necessary content has been provided.

Inclusion in University of Victoria’s communications on upcoming events

Your event will be submitted to local assignment desks and calendar editors no later than 10 days prior to your event date as well as circulated to the University community.

Featured events are included in our website’s rotating banner (Subject to availability) www.uvic.ca/farquhar.

Monthly E-Newsletter

A text listing of your event, and a link to your ticketing page will appear in one monthly e-newsletter, sent to approximately 4,000 opted-in recipients at the beginning of the month in which the event occurs. Due to the high volume of events at the Farquhar, we are unable to send event-specific emails outside of our monthly e-newsletter.

Digital Signage

A digital slide featuring your event’s date, title, presentation info and image will be produced by the Farquhar and included on our digital signage system which is active in our building lobby 24/7.

Connect with the Farquhar on Facebook (Farquhar Auditorium/UVic), Twitter (@UVicFarquhar) and Instagram (@UVicFarquhar).We are happy to retweet and share your upcoming event information when our content calendar allows. Contests, ticket presales, and other special promotions can also be shared on our social media channels.

Printed Materials

Printed promotional materials for your event can be dropped off or mailed to the UVic Ticket Centre for display (Attn: UVic Ticket Centre, University of Victoria, Jamie Cassels Centre B Wing, PO Box 3025 STN CSC, Victoria BC V8W 3P2). We can accept two 11” x 17” posters and small handbills (rackcards, flyers and postcards).

Arrangements to post additional posters on the campus can be made for a fee through UVic’s One Card office  https://www.uvic.ca/onecard/other/posters/index.php.

 Here’s what we need from you:

The Farquhar’s ability to execute the above listed marketing support strongly relies on the quality of the material provided. High resolution images, brief and engaging videos, and succinct marketing copy are always preferred. The images must not incorporate any text or logos. If you are unable to provide images in the required specifications, the Farquhar will utilize a generic photo for your event page.

The Farquhar has the right to negotiate the above items depending on the current marketing needs of its own presentations and programming.
