Biography

Onowa McIvor Whitinui is a member of Kinoséwi Sípíhk (Norway House Cree Nation) and connected to Cross Lake in Treaty 5 territory (northern Manitoba) on her mother and Scottish-Canadian through her father. She is a grateful resident of the SENĆOŦEN and lək̓ʷəŋən speaking territories. She is a lifelong language learner, activist, researcher and professor in Indigenous Language Revitalization.
