Collective Agreement ratified

On May 29, 2026 a tentative Collective Agreement was reached based on the Province’s 2025 Balanced Measures Mandate between the University of Victoria and the Faculty Association. The tentative agreement, which will be in effect July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2029, was ratified by the union and its members on June 23, and by the university’s Board of Governors on June 24.

The tentative agreement was reached following a full year of collective bargaining and eight days of mediation with the assistance of a neutral mediator appointed by the BC Labour Relations Board.

Approximately 955 faculty members and librarians, including assistant professors, associate professors, professors, librarians, archivists, assistant teaching professors, associate teaching professors, teaching professors, limited-term faculty (for greater than one year), artists in residence and lecturers are represented by the Faculty Association in collective bargaining with the University of Victoria.

Details of the tentative agreement will be available on the VPAC website beginning sometime in July 2026.
