CUPE 917 bargaining

Approximately 970 staff (470 FTE), including in trades, the athletics department, grounds workers, security officers, facility attendants, as well as janitorial, maintenance and food service workers, among others, are represented in collective bargaining by CUPE 917.

The current collective agreement with CUPE 917 expired on March 31, 2025; however, the terms and conditions continue in force until the parties renegotiate the agreement in accordance with the provincial 2025 Balanced Measures Mandate.

The parties began collective bargaining under the 2025 Balance Measures collective bargaining mandate on April 1 and April 9, 2026 and the parties plan to set dates to advance collective bargaining through the spring.
