Pascalle Sabine Ricard (she/her) is completing a Master of Arts in the Art History & Visual Studies program at the University of Victoria. Before entering the MA program, she completed a BSc in Psychology and a BA in Art History at UVic. During her undergraduate studies, she served on a variety of community arts boards and gained extensive experience in nonprofit governance, which continues to inform her work and collaborative approach today.

While completing her BSc in Psychology, Ricard worked as a private Behaviour Interventionist. This experience inspired her to organize the Gelfling Art Camp at UVic in 2018, which introduced children with support needs to a range of art practices led by local Victoria artists. The camp concluded with a group art show on campus in the community garden.

Her current graduate research in material culture considers human rituals, symbolism within the home, and sacred spaces. Her research explores how rituals can exist in daily life, define cultures, and connect people with their familial histories.

Outside of her academic work, Ricard enjoys walking in the forest, working in the garden, and creating audio-visual art. In 2016, she founded Cabaret Voltaire Société & Diversions, a nonprofit devoted to showcasing local experimental art and music events. She was also the host of The Fiji Mermaid, a weekly radio program on CFUV that showcased experimental local sound art and music for 11 years.
