COWCUBS Conference 2026
(Council of Western Canadian University Board Secretaries Conference)
The University of Victoria is pleased to let you know that registration for COWCUBS 2026 being held October 5-6, 2026 is open. The conference will be held on the UVic campus.
The cost of registration is $390 (plus fees and taxes), which includes breakfast and lunch on Monday and breakfast and a takeaway lunch on Tuesday - as well as endless caffeine!
There is an optional group outing on Sunday evening, prior to the opening of the conference, as well as an optional group dinner outing on Monday evening.
Rooms at Chateau Victoria Hotel are offered at a discounted rate for conference attendees; please book with the hotel directly and let them know you are a COWCUBS attendee when you reserve.

Governance in Times of Challenge and Change
COWCUBS 2026 brings together governance professionals from universities across Western Canada to explore the future of higher education governance. Participants will examine evolving governance models, student engagement challenges and opportunities, leadership development and transition, crisis oversight, equity and inclusion, and the emerging issues shaping post-secondary institutions. The conference offers a collaborative space to share experiences, strengthen professional networks, and explore effective governance practices in an increasingly complex environment.
