Application process
We really want this application process to be as easy for you as possible! If you have any questions at all, or if there is something we can do to make this easier for you, please contact us!
Step 1: Attend a mandatory Information Session
Information Sessions are held in many locations throughout Victoria. Info session dates and locations are announced approximately 1 month before. Sessions are about 1 hour long, and you do not need to RSVP to attend.
We do require all applicants to attend an info session.

- Rock Bay Landing - Wednesday, August 14th, 2pm-3pm
- Burnside Gorge - Thursday, August 15th, 4pm-5pm
- Centennial Square - Tuesday, August 20th, 2pm-3pm
- UVic Main Campus, Tables Outside of McPherson Library - Thursday, August 22nd 6pm-7pm
- Our Place - Friday, August 23rd, 12pm-1pm
Step 2: Fill out application form
- The application can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/L5RZK36
- Application forms will also be available at all of the info sessions or at the Uni 101 office.
- Return completed forms to Uni 101 Staff or to the University 101 office at UVic, in the Clearihue Building, room D124.
- Applications are assessed after the deadline, in relation to other applications received. No one is deemed ineligible based on income or other factors. However, those with lower incomes and fewer opportunities for post-secondary education will be admitted on a priority basis.
- We will try our best to contact all applicants as soon as possible after the application deadline. If you have not heard from us, please get in touch.
- Confidentiality: The information provided on the application forms is kept entirely confidential and is used only by the University 101/102 Applications Committee to assess applicant eligibility. Information provided on the University 101/102 application form is never given to outside individuals or organizations.
- Returning applicants: You are a returning applicant if you have completed one of the University 101 or University 102 courses within the past year. If this is the case, please contact us for the returning student registration form.

How are applications assessed?
Our goal is to provide a learning space for people who face multiple and/or significant barriers to post-secondary education. Those with lower incomes and fewer opportunities for post-secondary education will be admitted on a priority basis.
Applications are assessed by the University 101 Application Committee which is composed of members of the Uni 101 community, including staff, faculty, and student volunteers.
