Microsoft 365 email - mobile

Microsoft 365 email is a cloud email service provided to UVic students through our Microsoft 365 subscription. Here are some common support questions about using your Microsoft 365 email account on a mobile device.

Please note: this support information has only been tested on mobile devices running supported versions of the iOS and Android operating systems.

Check your @uvic.ca email

You can check your email online through any modern web browser at https://outlook.office.com

Just login with your Netlink ID and password!

Get Outlook for iOS and add your @uvic.ca email

If you prefer to check your email in an app, you can get Outlook 365 for iOS and add your @uvic.ca email address. See Microsoft Support article: Set up an account on the Microsoft Outlook for iOS app

Get Outlook for Android and add your @uvic.ca email

If you prefer to check your email in an app, you can get Outlook 365 for Android and add your @uvic.ca email address. See Microsoft Support article: Set up Office apps and email on Android

Can I add my @uvic.ca email to the iOS Mail app or Gmail on Android?

We recommend using a supported Outlook client for full functionality of your account. You can connect to your UVic Microsoft 365 email account using the iOS Mail app, but Microsoft does not provide support for it. This means you'll miss out on some features and may experience service issues if you use it.

The Android Gmail app is not compatible with Microsoft 365 email accounts.
University Systems can only provide best effort support for clients who wish to use an unsupported mail client.

I have UVic MFA on my NetLink ID. Can I still add my email to my phone?

Microsoft 365 email accounts are fully integrated with UVic MFA. Adding an MFA-enabled UVic email account to your mobile device won't require regular authentication from Duo either!

You can learn more about how we're keeping your account secure on our Exchange Online security page.
