Robert Gifford has identified 37 psychological barriers that limit our ability to react to climate change. The barriers, listed and explained in a special climate change issue of Maclean's magazine, fall into seven categories he calls "dragons"- a metaphor to describe the gap between knowledge and action. Gifford is currently working with the federal government to develop more effective climate action programs.
