Ning and Rankin win poster awards at CSSC

Two of our statistics students won awards for their poster presentation at the Eleventh Canadian Statistics Student Conference.

Haochen (Emily) Ning received second place in the student poster presentation competition at the master's level. Emily is a student of Xuekui Zhang and the title of the poster is "iimi: A novel automated workflow for plant viruses diagnostics from high-throughput sequencing data".

Isaac Rankin received third place in the student poster presentation competition at the undergraduate level. Isaac worked under the supervision of Julie Zhou and the title of the poster is "Bayesian and Maximin A-Optimal Designs for Spline Regression Models with Unknown Knots".
