Women Continuing in Engineering and Computer Science Award

Two awards of $5,000 each will be provided annually to support woman-identifying undergraduate students who are continuing their studies in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. Preference will be given to students who are from Vancouver Island and further preference for students who demonstrate financial need. Approval of the recipient is made by the Senate committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.

Eligibility

 In-Course scholarships, awards, medals and prizes are offered to undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 12.0 units for credit, of which 10.5 units are graded using the standard nine point scale, in two of the three terms of study in the previous academic year (May to April). In-course scholarships, awards and prizes are awarded in the subsequent winter session (September to April).

How to apply

Application-required scholarships and awards require students to submit either a paper or online application as well as supporting documentation. In order to apply for scholarships offered online, students must complete the in-course scholarship application, available through Online tools. The online application for students currently attending is open February 15 - April 30. Any supporting documentation required for the online application must be submitted by email to incourse@uvic.ca by April 30. 

How to accept

To accept your scholarship offer:

  1. Have a NetLink ID
  2. Go to www.uvic.ca and sign into your UVic Online tools account using your NetLink ID
  3. Select "Student Services" on the top menu
  4. Select "Awards and financial aid" under "Finances"
  5. Select "View My Student Aid"
  6. Enter the Aid Year and Aid Period
  7. Select "Accept" on the scholarship(s) you have been offered
