Innis Christie Entrance Scholarship*

One scholarship is awarded to an academically outstanding student entering the Faculty of Law JD program. Preference will be given to a student who either is from or has a connection to Atlantic Canada or has an expressed interest in employment/labour law. In the case where there is no applicant that meets one of these criteria, the scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Faculty of Law.

Approval of the recipient will be made by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Law.

Eligibility

Except where the terms and conditions of an athletic award, award, scholarship or prize specifically state otherwise, Varsity award winners must normally have passed a minimum of 9.0 units in the preceding academic year with a minimum sessional GPA of 3.0; if the terms of the award or scholarship are for non-varsity student-athletes, regular scholarship regulations apply, and students must have completed a minimum of 12 units in two terms in the previous academic year.

How to apply

Application-required scholarships and awards require students to submit either a paper or online application as well as supporting documentation. In order to apply for scholarships offered online, students must complete the in-course scholarship application, available through Online tools. The online application for students currently attending is open April 1-May 31. Any supporting documentation required for the online application must be submitted by email to incourse@uvic.ca by May 31.

How to accept

To accept your scholarship offer:

  1. Have a NetLink ID
  2. Go to www.uvic.ca and sign into your UVic Online tools account using your NetLink ID
  3. Select "Student Services" on the top menu
  4. Select "Awards and financial aid" under "Finances"
  5. Select "View My Student Aid"
  6. Enter the Aid Year and Aid Period
  7. Select "Accept" on the scholarship(s) you have been offered
