Faculty of Fine Arts Indigenous Student Award*

One or more awards, of at least $1,000 each, are given to First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit entering, continuing or transferring undergraduate students in the Faculty of Fine Arts with demonstrated financial need. Continuing students with a GPA of 6.0 or higher in the previous year of study are eligible for this award. Entering students must meet the minimum GPA requirement for an entrance scholarship.

Part-time students (registered in a minimum of 6.0 units for credit in two of the three terms) and graduating students are eligible.

Applicants, candidates or nominees for this award who have indicated they are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit are required to demonstrate their eligibility for Indigenous-specific awards in alignment with the Indigenous Citizenship Declaration (ICD) Policy (GV0810).

Eligibility

In-Course scholarships, awards, medals and prizes are offered to undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 12.0 units for credit, of which 10.5 units are graded using the standard nine point scale, in two of the three terms of study in the previous academic year (May to April). In-course scholarships, awards and prizes are awarded in the subsequent winter session (September to April).

How to apply

Application-required scholarships and awards require students to submit either a paper or online application as well as supporting documentation. In order to apply for scholarships offered online, students must complete the in-course scholarship application, available through Online tools. The online application for students currently attending is open February 15 - April 30. Any supporting documentation required for the online application must be submitted by email to incourse@uvic.ca by April 30. 

How to accept

To accept your scholarship offer:

  1. Have a NetLink ID
  2. Go to www.uvic.ca and sign into your UVic Online tools account using your NetLink ID
  3. Select "Student Services" on the top menu
  4. Select "Awards and financial aid" under "Finances"
  5. Select "View My Student Aid"
  6. Enter the Aid Year and Aid Period
  7. Select "Accept" on the scholarship(s) you have been offered
