Audain Travel Award

One award of $7,500 will be given to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the Department of Visual Arts to enhance the student learning experience through travel or project/research costs in support of broadening the student’s knowledge of historical and contemporary art. This activity may include, but not be limited to travel, accommodation, admission fees to museums, galleries, etc., and/or participation in exhibitions, performances, workshops or presentations. Preference is given to students who are using the fund for travel.

Applications must include a brief description of their reason for travel (50 word max), a letter of endorsement from a faculty member, a budget detailing the cost of the travel and/or research project, and a resume of the student’s work.

Approval of the recipient will be made by either the Senate Committee on Awards or the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts.

Eligibility

 In-Course scholarships, awards, medals and prizes are offered to undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 12.0 units for credit, of which 10.5 units are graded using the standard nine point scale, in two of the three terms of study in the previous academic year (May to April). In-course scholarships, awards and prizes are awarded in the subsequent winter session (September to April).

How to accept

To accept your scholarship offer:

1. Have a NetLink ID
2. Go to www.uvic.ca and sign into your UVic Online tools account using your NetLink ID
3. Select "Student Services" on the top menu
4. Select "Awards and financial aid" under "Finances"
5. Select "View My Student Aid"
6. Enter the Aid Year and Aid Period
7. Select "Accept" on the scholarship(s) you have been offered
