Sinclair Life Sciences Award*
One or more bursaries are awarded to continuing undergraduate students in Honours or Major Programs in the life sciences who best combine scholarship with financial need. Applicants need not be primarily registered in the Faculty of Science, but must submit an application which briefly describes their involvement in the study of life sciences. Awards will be made on the recommendation of the faculties in which the applicants are registered. Suggested eligible major areas of study include: Animal Sciences, Animal Behaviour, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Botany, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Genetics, Geology, Health Science, Horticulture, Earth & Ocean Sciences, Kinesiology, Life Sciences, Marine Biology, Medicine, Microbiology, Neurobiology, Nutrition, Pharmacy, Physiology, Plant Sciences, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Reproduction, Toxicology, Veterinary Medicine, Wildlife Biology, Zoology.

Eligibility
Undergraduate students
General bursaries are open to undergraduate students who:
- Are Canadian citizens or are permanent residents of Canada.
- Receive the maximum full-time Canadian government student loans and grants for their period of study.
- Maintain registration in a minimum of 4.5 units in the term in which they receive a bursary (3.0 units for students with a permanent disability).
- Maintain registration in a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks of study for the term in which they receive a bursary.
- For continuing students, a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the previous academic session is required.
How to apply
There are two opportunities to apply each year.
The deadlines are:
- June 1 for the Summer Session (May to August)
- October 15 for the Winter Session (September to April).
Only one application per session is necessary to be considered for all bursaries administered by Student Awards and Financial Aid. To be considered you must complete the application, which can be accessed through Online tools.
