Erin Donald, RN, is a graduate of Ryerson University and received her Masters of Science in Nursing in Community and Public Health Program Development and Leadership at Seattle University. Her clinical background is in palliative and home care nursing. She has also worked as both a research assistant with iPANEL and as a nursing research facilitator for the Fraser Health Authority. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Victoria where she continues to be involved in research through the Equity in Palliative Approaches to Care program of research. Erin’s doctoral research is investigating the care needs and experience of persons with severe persistent mental illness in the palliative phase. Her other research interests include the history of palliative care and mental health care, equity in palliative care, critical theoretical approaches in research, and mad studies and other alternative approaches to the study of mental illness/madness.
