Navya Vikraman Nair (She/Her) is a CFGS-POLIS Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria, working with Dr. Tom Gleeson in Civil Engineering on the project “Beneath the Fireline: Groundwater Use for Climate-Resilient Communities as Wildfires Escalate.” She is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary researcher with a background in civil and environmental engineering, whose work focuses on sustainability science, climate adaptation, groundwater resilience, and community-centered environmental governance. Navya completed her PhD in Sustainability Management (Water) at the University of Waterloo, Canada, where her research explored blue carbon ecosystems, water quality, and small-scale fisheries through participatory and social-ecological approaches in India. Her broader research interests include coastal and water governance, climate resilience, traditional ecological knowledge, community-centered approaches, sustainability transitions, and Global South environmental challenges. She is also involved in international collaborative research
