Moving Trans History Forward 2023 (MTHF23) will be hybrid, taking place both in person at the University of Victoria and online March 30th – April 2nd, 2023. For further conference details, visit our About page.
All registrations (except one-day registrations) include access to ALL conference events, including opening ceremony, all speakers, presentations, sessions, keynotes, art and performances, and panels.
IN PERSON (SOLD OUT) or ONLINE ONLY
The first step is to decide if you want to attend in-person or only online. Both in-person and online registrants will have access to the same content at the same time.
IN-PERSON REGISTRANTS (SOLD OUT) will have access to both the on-campus experience as well as the online portal, giving these registrants the option of attending some of the conference in person, and some of the conference online. They will also have access to all meals:
THURSDAY EVENING: opening ceremony, light refreshments
FRIDAY: morning coffee and light breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch buffet, dinner buffet
SATURDAY: morning coffee and light breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch buffet, dinner buffet
SUNDAY MORNING: morning coffee and light lunch
ONLINE-ONLY REGISTRANTS will only have access to the conference via Zoom Events, with no in-person access or access to meals.
ZOOM EVENTS
The conference platform will be Zoom Events. All conference registrants (online and in person) will use Zoom Events to review the conference schedule and information, including presenter bios and abstracts. A limited number of printed programs will be available for in-person attendees.
Conference organizers will use the email address associated with each registrant's Zoom account. Registrants will be sent a Zoom Events join link prior to the conference. Registrants will use this link to access the conference via their Internet Browser or Zoom App. Be sure to update your brower and app to the most current version before joining the conference (download Zoom).
If you are familiar with Zoom, then you will be comfortable using Zoom Events.
DOWNLOAD ZOOM (FREE) and sign up for an account
To view the conference, a Wi-Fi connection will work, however using a stable hardwired internet-connected device or computer will give you a better experience.
If you want to verbally ask questions and be seen on screen, a device/computer with a camera/microphone is necessary.
Full log-in details will be emailed to all registrants prior to the conference.

We hope to be able to give subsidies to everyone who needs one. If you can't afford the low-income or one-day registration and want to request a registration subsidy, please select "Subsidized" when registering. Organizers will review your request and contact you within seven business days.
