All library buildings will be closed on March 19th at 4:30 through April 10th. No access will be provided to any of our physical spaces during this time.

If you currently have library material checked out, please do not return it. Your loan period has already been extended to September 30th. No fines will be charged during this time. For questions, contact loandesk@uvic.ca.

Virtual Services

Please consult your subject librarian for help with your teaching, learning, or research needs and finding electronic alternatives to print material.

This Research Anywhere guide serves as a portal to our ebooks, online journal collections and databases, learning videos, tutorials for writing and research, data management tools, and tips for accessing the Libraries' collections remotely.

The libraries have many electronic resources for your use, including:

If you are experiencing access issues to any online library resource, please report the problem to esourcehelp@uvic.libanswers.com

Reserve: non-print resources can be put on reserve reading or consider using Course Spaces.

Distance Students

We will continue to provide research and reference services while the UVic Libraries are closed, but we will be unable to mail print books to you during this time. If you currently have material checked out the loan period has been extended to September 1, 2020. Do not return items at this time. You will not incur any fines. For any questions, contact infoline@uvic.ca.

Service Interruptions

At this time requests for new orders have been suspended.

Interlibrary Loans will fill requests for electronic materials only.

Re:Trieve, Re:Quest, Film Booking, and Music & Media equipment loans are suspended at this time. Please contact loandesk@uvic.ca or askref@uvic.ca if you have questions.

External and Alumni Patrons

Services to our alumni, external, and community members have been temporarily suspended, to allow staff to focus their efforts on supporting library needs of students and faculty. Support for social work practicum supervisors will be provided to the best of our abilities, with the recognition that student requests must take priority. Services will be re-evaluated on an on-going basis. For any questions, contact infoline@uvic.ca.
