First-year instructors working group

The First Year Instructors Group is a grassroots group of instructors of the largest first-year courses on campus who meet regularly to

  • share best practices;
  • share ideas; and
  • problem solve.

The group makes recommendations to the Provost's Office regarding improvements to practices that can benefit all first-year students, which can then be referred to the appropriate senate committees for consideration. It is chaired .
