Pacific and Asian Studies Student Research and Exchange Fund Annual Award The Department of Pacific and Asian Studies is pleased to announce the annual competition for the Pacific and Asian Studies STUDENT RESEARCH AND EXCHANGE AWARD worth $500.00. This AWARD is intended to support advanced language and cultural study or thesis research in the Asia-Pacific region.

2018 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme Recruitment - Live, Work and Learn in Japan!

Greetings from the Consulate General of Japan! Recruitment for the 2018 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is currently underway. Of the 52 participants sent from British Columbia, this past summer, six were former University of Victoria students. We hope we will continue to receive many strong candidates from UVic for next year.

Call for Nominations: 3M National Student Fellowship

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, which offers the national 3M teaching awards for faculty, has an equivalent national award for undergraduate and graduate students called the National 3M Student Fellowship. In the past four years a student from UVic has been awarded one of these prestigious awards.

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test Sunday, December 3, 2017 Registration is now open until October 6, 2017 The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is designed to evaluate and certify the language proficiency of learners of the Japanese language. In Canada, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test is offered in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.
