Babak Ashrafkhani Limoudehi has held various teaching roles here at UVic and elsewhere, including course instructor, ASC tutor, and teaching assistant for many years. Previously, he was a faculty member at Guilan University of Medical Sciences in Iran, where he served as coordinator of the English Department. Babak Ashrafkhani Limoudehi's classes always remind him that teaching is really about learning together. He loves supporting students by helping them to gain confidence in their unique writing voices, because confidence grows through practice. Writing can be tough, but it is also a space for creativity. His work as a translator has also shaped his pedagogy by teaching him that words are not neutral and carry worlds.

As a PhD candidate and researcher, Babak Ashrafkhani Limoudehi studies how literature maps our tangled relationships with ecology and how stories shape environmental values, or (re)imagine resilient futures amid climate crisis and inequality. When he is not teaching or researching, you'll find him immersed in theatre and sustainability activities.
