Online learning resources
Learner Empowerment and Academic Resource Network (UVicLearn) offers self-paced online modules that will help you get started with online learning technologies like Brightspace, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
We also offer a curated library of online social work resources to assist you with your research.
Awards & funding
The university offers several awards for graduate and undergraduate students. Certain awards are open only to social work students while others are more general in nature and are available to students in our social work programs. Some require an application while others (scholarships) are awarded based on academic achievement.
Career resources
UVic offers several career resources for undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Social Work. We also provide an email service for sharing career information and job/volunteer opportunities with our students and alumni.
Registration with the BC College of Social Workers
The BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW) is the regulatory body for the practice of social work in British Columbia. Their mandate is to protect the public interest by establishing and supporting high standards for qualified registered social workers.
Applications for registration should be submitted to the college well in advance of graduation to allow time for processing. It is required to successfully complete a licensure exam as part of the BCCSW registration process.
