Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, strong communication skills, and group facilitation skills. Candidates must hold a master's degree and possess a working understanding of the concepts of Canada's health care system and the community services sector. An awareness and capacity to articulate and discuss current events and their impact on health and community service sectors will assist with class participation and grading. A knowledge of relevant health professions and inter-professional practice would be an asset. Having taken classes online and had previous instructional experience online is an asset.

Summary of duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities of the teaching assistant will include regular communications with course instructor via e-mail correspondence and weekly check-ins over videoconference; monitoring of Brightspace site discussion boards for student inquiries; coordinating check-ins and feedback requests from students over e-mail; co-developing assignment rubrics; grading of assignments. Opportunities to support the curation/development of weekly content if interested.
