Qualifications

Ideal candidates will hold a minimum master's degree. They will have excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills. Candidates will have a functional and pedagogical understanding of human sexuality, as a multi-faceted concept, influenced by biological, cultural, environmental, historical, psychological and societal contexts. Students will investigate the dynamic role sexuality plays in human experience and the mechanisms by which individuals can achieve healthy sexuality. TAs will help with course readings, assignments and class activities, encouraging students to explore the complexities of human sexuality from a number of perspectives.

Summary of duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities of the teaching assistant will include moderating and engaging with student discussions based on readings, assignments and class activities, willingness to contribute to development of course content such as quizzes and / or guest lectures, grading assignments / quizzes, and facilitating testing for students who are unable to attend initial quizzes or tests. TAs will coordinate check-ins and feedback requests from students over email. TAs are required to communicate in a timely, professional, and effective manner with students, the instructor, and administration.
